Cardinal Ridge Bakery was founded in September 2003 by Marguerite and Michael McKim. They worked very long, hard hours perfecting their one-of-a kind gourmet pet treats! After 5 successful years and putting their hearts and souls into the business, they decided to retire and devote more time to their family, friends, and Marguerite's Mosaic Art.

Enter Sophie Rhum! Sophie had been researching many businesses, met with business consultants and prayed very hard to try and decide what she wanted to be when she "grew up". She met with Marguerite & Michael about their gourmet pet treat business but still was unsure of what to do.  As she sat praying loudly for answers one morning, a little Red Cardinal flew onto a branch and sat in front of her window staring at her. She took this as a sign (more like a slap in the face telling her to wake up and see the signs) and decided this was the business for her! Her husband agreed, he told his friend, who told his wife and now they are all partners taking up where Marguerite and Michael left off.

Cardinal Ridge Bakery Tradition:  We continue to take pride in our product and make our pet treats with natural, human-quality products using herbs and spices for those delicious aromas and flavors. Only the finest, freshest ingredients will do when it comes to creating great tasting snacks for your favorite dog, cat, or horse.

Our Mission: Our shared mission is to provide every dog, cat, and horse with an incredible and unique pet treat they love to eat without compromising their well-being. An added bonus is that pet parents feel good about giving their babies our delicious treats.

Our products are tried and tested:  All our pet treats are put to the ultimate test by our official taste testers, ZaZu (a boxer/catahoula mix who was adopted when she was just 6 weeks old), Satou (a Maltipoo who was adopted when he was just 7 weeks old) and our newest baby girl, Sandy (a Maltipoo who loves to cuddle).

Our New Location:  We are now located in Round Rock, Texas—a small, beautiful city located just North of Austin. The company is owned and operated by Kirk & Sophie Rhum and Brian Goolsby.
